What is Fascia?

Fascia is connective tissue that covers our entire bodies. Head to toe, skin to bone; and even penetrates throughout our cells and tissues. Mobility, flexibility, healthy circulation in muscles, joints, arteries, veins, brain & spinal cord are all largely dependent on flexibility of fascia.

Is Fascial Stretch Therapy Right for Me?

Yes! Fascial Stretch Therapy is appropriate for all ages, from children and up, anyone trying to get out of pain, professional athletes as well as those who simply enjoy staying active. It has the ability to decompress joints, where we lose close to 40% of our flexibility. Your fascial system is a force transmitter and this type of assisted stretching is known to help people perform and recover better, in both every day life activities as well as intense work outs.

Meet Annie

Annie is a Level 3 certified Fascial Stretch Specialist and 200 hour certified Yoga teacher who offers Fascial Stretch Therapy and Yoga sessions in Salem, Oregon.

She first started teaching fitness classes in 2009, and completed a weekend YogaFit training in 2010. In 2013, she received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification with Sarah Trelease at Yoga Bhoga in Portland, as well as completed a 200hr Anatomy in Motion training with Renee Sills. From then on, she has consistently taught yoga classes at various studios and athletic clubs.

The first time she had fascial stretch therapy done was by a friend in 2013. She was immediately hooked and knew it was her calling. She became certified in both Level 1 and Level 2 in 2014, and Level 3 in early 2015. She has been “stretching people” ever since.

Aside from teaching yoga and fascial stretch therapy, Annie started racing in triathlons in 2022. It quickly became another passion and placed 3rd in her age group for Oregon 70.3 in 2024 and secured her spot for 70.3 World Championships in Spain, 2025. She loves the challenge of training and believes deeply that recovery through myofascial release, stretching and yoga have helped her improve quickly and stay injury free.

At home, she has two little girls who keep her busy with school, dance, swim and other activities. On the weekends you'll find them hanging out making art projects, going to parks, the pool, and camping trips when time allows. They are the light of her life and will always be the best teachers.

“I believe that movement looks different for each person. As it should. I believe movement is healing. Movement is medicine. It doesn’t have to be a lot. It could start with – or just be – 5 minutes a day. 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, etc. It could be anything! Walking, swimming, dancing, yoga, stretching, the wiggles … you get it. There IS a such thing as joyful movement, and I believe everyone deserves to find and experience that.”
